About Me
As a Pediatric Emergency Medicine provider my goal is to ensure all children receive the prompt medical care they need to help them return to the things in life that bring them joy as soon as possible.
Michael Harries is a pediatric emergency medicine physician at Lurie Children's. Prior to completing medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, he spent time as a high school teacher in Chicago. He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital as part of the 4-year Health Services Scholarship Track. He completed his fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Lurie Children's, joining the faculty after his graduation. He also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching from Dominican University and a Master of Arts Degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago Harris School.
Michael is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is particularly interested in bridging the gaps between the K-12 education system and healthcare systems to improve care for children.
