About

Dr. Hambrick is a pediatric nephrologist with a special interest in optimizing drug dosing for children on dialysis, particularly critically ill children in the ICU receiving continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). He completed medical school at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine, where he received the Alpha Omega Alpha award for the student who attained the highest scholastic average across 4 years of training, the Rosa Nemir Award for excellence in Pediatrics, and the Community Service Award for Outstanding Service to the local community. He then attended the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics between Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center, where he was granted the Fred Lovejoy Award as the most outstanding pediatric resident. He then completed dual fellowship training in pediatric nephrology and pediatric clinical pharmacology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center alongside a Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Research. His current work is funded through an Early Career Award from the Thrasher Foundation for Pediatric Research and is entitled "Pharmacokinetics of Cefepime in Children receiving Continuous Kidney Replacement Therapy". He is interested in critical care nephrology, medical education (he is an active tutor for the US medical licensing exam and pediatric board exams), and the pharmacokinetics of immunosuppressants used in patients with kidney disease.
