About
Dr. Grant works exclusively in the hospital (or "inpatient") setting and understands that hospitals can feel intimidating and unfamiliar to many families. As a father himself, he strongly believes in involving families at every stage of a child's hospitalization — from making shared decisions about critical aspects of care to addressing parents' concerns about discharge readiness.
Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Grant had a varied career as a farmer, schoolteacher, handyman and salesperson. While unassuming, he credits this diverse background with helping him connect meaningfully with the wide array of families and children he meets at Lurie Children’s.
His professional focus includes addressing racial inequities in medical school evaluations and helping children use mindfulness techniques to manage fear during hospital stays.
Feel free to ask him about his mischievous, quirky dogs, Blu and Tucker, or anything related to Italy, where he was born.
