About

Christy was born in Quito, Ecuador and moved to the Chicagoland area when she was 8 years old. She completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She returned to Chicago to start her nursing career at Loyola University Medical Center in the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Intensive Care Unit. She then transitioned to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the University of Chicago where she worked for 5 years. Christy completed her graduate education at Loyola University where she earned a master’s degree in nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. She joined the heart transplant team at Lurie Children’s Hospital and later transitioned to the cardiac catherization lab in 2018.
