Dr. Bueche has practiced pediatric orthopaedic surgery in the western suburbs of Chicago for over 30 years. He is very pleased and excited to have recently joined the staff of the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital as an attending physician in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine.

Dr Bueche grew up in a small town in central Michigan and completed his undergraduate studies in Chemistry and Cellular/Molecular Biology at the University of Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan Medical School and remained in Ann Arbor for his Orthopaedic Surgery specialty training, completing the University of Michigan Residency in 1989.

His sub-specialty training in Pediatric Orthopaedics and Scoliosis was at the prestigious Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas. After completion of the fellowship, he began his practice in the Chicago area. He served as Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Loyola University-Stritch School of Medicine until 2008, when he proceeded to focus his attention to his private practice of Pediatric Orthopaedics in the Western Suburbs of Chicago.

Dr. Bueche has served on the Board of Directors of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America and has been on the faculty of the International Pediatric Orthopedic Symposium. He serves as a Consultant Reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and as a Peer Reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has participated in international medical service trips to South America and the Middle East, providing teaching and direct medical care in under-resourced areas. Most recently, he was part of a team of physicians from Lurie Children’s who visited the United Arab Emirates, providing patient consultations, teaching, and performing surgeries. He volunteers at Easter Seals DuPage and Fox Valley and serves on their Medical Advisory Board and also on their Board of Directors.

Dr Bueche has considerable experience in the care of skeletal injuries and bone deformities in children. He has a special interest in the musculoskeletal care of children with special needs.
