About Me
“What drew me to the field of metabolic genetics is the opportunity to walk alongside patients and families throughout their lives. I find it incredibly meaningful to build lasting relationships, provide support across different stages of care, and work toward advancing health equity in rare diseases. Being part of this fellowship allows me to combine compassionate care with research and advocacy to make a difference for children and families impacted by complex genetic conditions.”
Swathi received her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling and Master of Public Health in Public Health Genetics from the University of Pittsburgh. She joined Lurie Children’s as the Lysosomal Storage Disorder Fellow in 2025, where she participates in newborn screening follow-up, clinical care, and research focused on improving outcomes for children with rare metabolic conditions.
