Spring Fundraising Ideas

Spring fundraising has sprung! As the frost of winter starts to melt away, you might be looking for more ways to spend time outdoors. During this time, consider starting your own fundraiser. Spring is the season for hope and fresh starts. Your efforts have the power to heal, to inspire, and to create a brighter future for generations to come. Learn how you can turn your family activities into an impactful way to give back with these five easy fundraising ideas below.

  1. Donate your birthday: Celebrate in honor of the patients and families at the hospital! Register online to gain access to a personal fundraising page and ask friends and family to make a gift to Lurie Children’s instead of giving physical gifts. Encourage everyone to share the link and spread the word!
  2. Do some spring cleaning: As the weather warms up, spring is the perfect time to clean and declutter your home. Go through old toys, clothes, and household objects and make a pile of unwanted items. Host a yard sale and donate the money raised to Lurie Children’s.
  3. Host a charity golf outing: Gather friends and family for a morning on the green. Charge an entry fee for participants and reach out to businesses for possible sponsorships.
  4. Throw a garden party: Kick off the season by inviting your friends and family over for a backyard party. Enjoy music, light refreshments, and drinks with your loved ones. Ask each attendee to donate to enter. Provide entertainment such as a plant swap or DIY flower arrangements and charge guests to participate.
  5. Help out with garden cleanup: Go around the community and offer your neighbors help with their garden cleanup, weeding, and planting in exchange for a donation. You can also lend a hand in unloading new plants and soil. A fun activity for the whole family!
