Novel Device Developed for Button Battery Detection

Award winning graduate student receives degree

June 30, 2017

Lindsay Stolzenburg, a graduate student in the Ann Harris lab, received her PhD from the Driskill Graduate Program in Life Sciences at Northwestern University in June 2017. In addition to receiving numerous awards, Lindsay was also featured in an article on the Northwestern Medicine website.

Talented Graduate Student Receives PhD

April 12, 2017

Han Shi, a graduate student in the laboratory of Yongchao Ma, PhD, presented his public thesis defense on April 12. Says Ma of his first graduate student, “Han independently developed a project on how aging affects dopaminergic neurons in Parkinson disease. During his time in my lab, Han has been a co-author on three publications and has won numerous awards.”

New Insight into Biology of Aggressive Brain Tumor

Atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor (AT/RT) is a highly aggressive brain tumor that occurs mainly in early childhood. The laboratory of Simone Treiger Sredni, MD, PhD, has identified a gene that had not been previously implicated in AT/RT.
