Pritzker Research Library

The Pritzker Research Library at Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute provides services and specialized collections for all Lurie Children’s faculty, staff and students who are involved in research or who are interested in research. The library is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; after-hours access is via keycard. Library collections are available to all Illinois libraries at no cost through interlibrary loan (ILL); out of state libraries may borrow through ILL for a modest cost. Please stop by the library, call or email with questions, requests for consultation or for training.

Library Services

The library provides interlibrary loan, database searching, reference services and training. In addition, please contact Peggy Murphy if you or your research group wish to set up a meeting to discuss library services and collections.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

The library can request through ILL most journal articles, meeting abstracts, book chapters or books that Manne Research Institute staff cannot obtain through Northwestern University Libraries.

Literature Searches

One time searches of bibliographic databases to find resources on a topic are helpful when you are beginning a research project, opening a new line of inquiry in your current research or want to know about a field with which you are unfamiliar. Available databases include Medline, Web of Science and PsycInfo.

Current Awareness Searches

Ongoing, monthly searches of bibliographic databases keep you up to date on the latest research in your area.

Funding Opportunities Searches

One time searches of SciVal Funding to find funding opportunities are helpful to identify sources of funding. SciVal includes everything from NIH grants to funds for attending a scientific meeting. Training is available for you to get started in SciVal.

Library Training

The library provides training in bibliographic database searching, finding resources through the University Libraries at Northwestern University, and EndNote (bibliographic management) software. Please contact Peggy Murphy to schedule a training session.
