Lurie Children’s was presented the Illinois Hospital Association (IHA) Quality Excellence Achievement Award, in the Urban Hospital category, at the 2013 IHA Leadership Summit September 24. The hospital was recognized for its “SOS: Save Our Skin – Pediatric Pressure Ulcer Prevention Program.”
This award honors Illinois hospitals and health systems leading in quality, innovative and transformative healthcare.
IHA received 104 entries from 57 hospitals and health systems across the state for its 2013 Quality Awards program. Entries were judged by a panel of 29 independent quality experts from throughout the U.S.
Lurie Children’s is one of the top children’s hospitals in the country according to U.S.News & World Report. It is the pediatric training ground for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and one of only a handful of U.S. children’s hospitals with a dedicated pediatric research center. It was the first children’s hospital in the country to receive the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence.
