U.S.News & World Report Rankings

Lurie Children’s provides some of the highest quality pediatric care in the country -- in 2016, we were ranked as the 6th best children's hospital in the country. Also, we're the only pediatric hospital in Illinois to be ranked by U.S.News & World Report in all 10 specialties. In fact, no other Illinois hospital scored higher in any one specialty area. With more than 5,000 hospitals in the United States, only about 1 in 30 has the expertise to care for children with serious problems.

According to U.S.News & World Report, "the specific mission of the Best Children's Hospitals rankings is to identify hospitals that provide the highest quality of care for children with the most serious or complicated medical conditions, using the most robust and sensitive measures available." These rankings are based on patient care resources, treatment, patient safety and reputation, as well as patient outcomes.

Lurie Children's was also awarded the honor roll designation for scoring in the top 10% in at least three specialties. We were one of 12 hospitals in the country to be given this special designation.
