Pediatric Urology

The Division of Urology at Lurie Children’s, ranked 7th in the nation by U.S.News & World Report, is the largest pediatric urology department in the region. We treat more than 7,500 children every year for both common and complex conditions. Our doctors can see your child for any urologic condition, from urinary trac​t infections and bedwetting to bladder reconstruction.


Our board-certified physicians are internationally known in the field for their clinical expertise and cutting-edge research. Our nurse practitioners have completed advanced training in pediatrics focusing on urology patients. The entire staff is dedicated to caring for infants, children and teens.

We perform thousands of procedures every year. Our surgical outcomes are among the best in the country. If your child needs an operation, many of our doctors are experts in minimally invasive surgery​, including robotic surgery (da Vinci® robot-assisted system). Patients benefit from our collaboration, combined knowledge and experienced team members. Our urologists meet weekly to review upcoming surgeries, discuss plans and share ideas.

First in Chicago to Acquire the Upgraded da Vinci® Xi™ Surgical System

The Division of Urology's Minimally Invasive Surgery Program recently acquired the fourth generation da Vinci Xi Surgical System, advanced technology used in robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery. The da Vinci Xi System has broader capabilities than prior generations of the da Vinci System.
