Lurie Children’s Division of Adolescent Medicine provides medical and mental health services for children and adolescents up to age 25. We provide a range of services for individuals, including primary care, behavioral health services, and gender and sex development care. We also provide community-based trainings and education.
Our team works closely with the specialists in the Gender and Sex Development Program.
Our entire staff is dedicated to comprehensively evaluating and treating adolescents and young adults. The highly-experienced team includes:

The division is led by Robert Garofalo, MD, MPH, who is board-certified in pediatrics and adolescent medicine. Dr. Garofalo also directs Lurie Children’s Adolescent/Young Adult HIV Program, the Division of Adolescent Medicine, and the Center for Gender, Sexuality and HIV Prevention through Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute.
We provide comprehensive care, taking time to answer patients’ and families’ questions to make sure everyone is comfortable with the treatment plan, and we also suggest other resources and support. Our services are available at the main hospital and Lurie Children’s Outpatient Centers in Lincoln Park and Uptown.
